Sham acupuncture is a type which doesn’t penetrate the skin, yet gives the patient the impression of experiencing normal acupuncture. It was first developed to be the placebo in randomised blind studies on acupuncture. These circles of sticky tape adhere to the patient’s skin, with the Park Sham Device sitting on top.
